About Hugo Florido
Hugo Florido has extensive experience representing more than fifty Major League Baseball players with various legal concerns. Early in his career he successfully represented a major airline, Viasa, in Federal Court for nearly three years. Mr. Florido has positioned himself as a specialist in negotiating contracts and representing clients who need basic and sophisticated contract drafting and interpretation. He has successfully negotiated hundreds of “deals” during his tenure. Mr. Florido has assisted individuals who needed sophisticated planning advice; has litigated both sides of foreclosure cases, actions for breach of fiduciary duty, and actions to enforce contractual obligation. In the past seventeen years, he has represented over six thousands clients involving a myriad of legal issues. Mr. Florido has concentrated his practice in Immigration, Real Estate, and Family Law; including civil litigation, debt collection, foreclosure, association representation, contract law, family matters, and immigration issues. Prior to beginning his solo practice, Mr. Florido was an Associate at the Law Offices of Sostchin & Pessin. P.A. Mr. Florido began his legal career as a lawyer in 1992 with the Small Business Administration, where he received several awards for his outstanding legal contributions. Mr. Florido received the highest evaluation for his part in assisting victims of Hurricane Andrew in receiving billions of U.S. dollars in Federal Government loans. His duty entailed securing, drafting, and executing the proper legal requirements to insure the governments collateral. In 1992, Florido earned a Juris Doctorate from St. Thomas School of Law. He also holds a B.A. degree in Marketing from Florida International University. He has been a member in good standing with the Florida Bar since 1992. His other memberships have included: the Cuban American Bar, the American Bar Associations, Attorney’s Title Fund. Mr. Florido is also licensed to practice before the United States District Court as he is a member of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
