About Joseph Gian Colombo
Joseph Colombo received his B.A. in Literature from Vassar College in 1991, and his J.D. with honors from the University of Miami School of Law in 1997. While in law school, Mr. Colombo was a Dean’s Merit Scholar and a member of the Inter-American Law Review. Upon graduation, Mr. Colombo spent several years at Holland & Knight, LLP, at the time the world’s largest law firm, where he focused his practice on real estate matters. In 2002 he opened his own Melbourne, Florida law firm where he practices primarily in the areas of real estate and construction litigation. Mr. Colombo currently represents some of the largest developers and construction companies in Central Florida, as well as approximately 40 condominium and homeowners’ associations in Brevard County. Over the past ten years he has focused his practice on representing homeowners in mortgage foreclosure defense litigation. He has litigated well over 2,000 mortgage foreclosure cases in his career. Mr. Colombo is frequently invited to lecture attorney organizations, homeowners’ groups, etc., throughout Central Florida, regarding foreclosure proceedings and alternative solutions to foreclosure. In the local community, Mr. Colombo serves as the Brevard County Director for the Boards of Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida, Inc. and Legal Advocacy Center of Central Florida, Inc., who, working in tandem, are the largest providers of free legal services for low income residents of Central Florida.
