About Melissa Kristine Pomares

Melissa K. Pomares, Esq. currently serves as a devoted associate with Sutton Law Group, P.A. where she primarily focuses her work in civil litigation, commercial litigation, and in handling personal injury cases. She earned her Juris Doctor in 2018 from Florida International University College of Law. While in law school, Ms. Pomares excelled as a member of the Negotiations and Mediation Team by training and competing nationally in complex contract negotiations. She also earned the “Excellence in Civic Engagement Award” due to her devotion to pro bono work. Her internship experiences included working in criminal defense, labor and employment defense for the City of Miami, and in protecting intellectual property for one high-profile company. Prior to her legal career, Ms. Pomares earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Miami, where she studied Political Science and Economics. She also worked for the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office in assisting with felony prosecutions and child support enforcement. As a member in good standing of the Florida Bar, Ms. Pomares is fully licensed to practice law in the State of Florida. She is a fluent Spanish speaker and a lifelong resident of Miami, Florida. When she is not practicing law, Ms. Pomares enjoys international travel.
