About Robyn Lori Goldenberg
How can we make sure our family member does not outlive their finances, spend all their money on long term care or bankrupt their spouse in the process of needing an increased level of care? Robyn and her family faced these exact questions. With an aging grandmother in need of an increased level of care and running out of savings, Robyn knew her family needed to consult with an elder law attorney. She turned to Friedman Elder Law Dept. looking for help. Faced with a complex and confusing system, Robyn saw how important it was to have a lawyer who not only brought knowledge and expertise to the practice of elder law but one who understood the challenges facing a family during a difficult and stressful time. As a result, Robyn decided to turn her practice from litigation to elder law to make the legal process relatable and seamless for elder law clients. Determined to help the senior population age gracefully and to provide security for family members, the practice of elder law has become her passion. A skilled litigator with over twenty-five years of experience, Robyn focuses her practice on assisting clients with Medicaid crisis planning and asset protection. She also places a heavy emphasis on Legacy Planning or Pre-Planning to ensure that families are protected when an emergency hits. We call Robyn our snowbird attorney, licensed in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Florida. In this role, she works with individuals who are retiring or have retired to Florida and need to readdress their estate and elder law planning. Since Robyn practices in both New Jersey and Florida, she can bridge both locations, meeting in person with children or clients in the Northeast while drafting and executing documents under Florida law. Robyn is a natural born problem solver determined to resolve her client's complex and challenging legal problems. When a family member or spouse faces a life altering medical condition, they are confronted with the fear of insurmountable medical expenses and costs of care. Robyn's goal is to help every client and their family receive peace of mind by knowing their assets can be protected and still receive the care they deserve and need. Having friends with long life illnesses like ALS and MS, Robyn understands that it is not just the physical and mental ailments that create pain. Fear of wiping out their family's savings for medical care is common. Robyn collaborates with clients with lifelong disabilities to provide Special Need Trusts to help protect their assets. Prior to practicing elder law, Robyn was a trial attorney representing injured individuals. For the last eighteen years, she has served as a child advocate, representing children in the foster care system in Philadelphia. Robyn won the Distinguished Advocate Award for her work in this area. In addition to practicing law, Robyn has been a nonprofit executive director providing legal services for attorneys and a Chief Operating Officer for law firms. Robyn's legal roots are in Florida, where she began her career as a public defender in Miami-Dade County. Robyn is a member of the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys, The Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys, and a member of the Elder Law Section of the Florida Bar.
