About Scott Michael McPherson
My name is Scott McPherson, and I was born in St. Petersburg, FL in 1964. I have lived in New Port Richey my entire life (with the exception of being off to college). My past medical experience has been a very big asset to me as an attorney representing injured clients. Following High School, I decided to first become an EMT, and then a Professional Paramedic. My first job in the medical field was 1983 at Bayonet Point Hospital Emergency Room. A short while later, in 1984, I accepted a position with Pasco County Fire-Rescue, and finished my Paramedic and Firefighting training and certifications. Shortly thereafter, in spite of my young age, I was commended for leadership and became the first Paramedic within Pasco County Fire Rescue to be appointed an officer within the Fire Service. Prior to that time, those working “rescue” were not officers, and only firefighters assigned to engines could achieve this honor. While an undergrad in college, I decided to go to law school, which I did after working 7 years at the Fire Service. Upon returning from law school, I decided that I would focus on personal injury law, as my experience as a paramedic/firefighter provided a great deal of benefit to me in analyzing my client’s injuries. I now have over 18 years of experience as an attorney. During that time, I have litigated a wide variety of personal injury claims, including countless automobile accidents, injuries from defective products, injuries from a premises hazard, and more. Although many cases wind-up settling without the need of a lawsuit, should the insurance company not offer a fair settlement in your case, you can have confidence knowing that I have tried many cases through to a jury verdict. Apart from my early experience as a Paramedic with Fire-Rescue, and my years now as an attorney, I have also been extremely active within my community, and strive to make it a better place. Most recently, in November, 2012, Scott M. McPherson, P.A. was nominated and won the “Philanthropic Small Business of the Year” by The Nature Coast Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (for donations made to numerous non-profits). As an attorney, the award I am most proud of would have to be a Certificate of Outstanding Service from the American Bar Association following the terrorist attacks of 9/11/2001. This recognition was given because I joined a group of lawyers throughout the United States to volunteer countless hours to legally help victims of the terrorist attacks. This volunteer work lasted about two solid years, and culminated in my travel to Washington, DC, where I put on a trial for victims assigned. Through this volunteer work, I collected over $3,000, for victims, without charging a penny in legal fees.
