About Thomas Paul Schmitt
Thomas P. Schmitt is an Expert Car Accident, Motorcycle Accident, Trucking Accident, and Slip and Fall Personal Injury Brain Injury and Wrongful Death Trial Specialist Attorney who obtained the second largest motorcycle collision jury verdict ever in the State of Florida. He is recognized in the National Law Journal's Top 50 Verdicts in the United States, 2014, and is recognized in the National Law Journal's Top 100 Verdicts in the United States, 2014. He is a Lifetime Member of both the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, “The Top Trial Lawyer’s in America”. He has recovered in excess of 100 Million Dollars for his clients during his career. His trial skills have been recognized by his lifetime induction into the National Order of Barristers for Excellence and High Honors in the Art of Courtroom Advocacy. He is a native Floridian who was born in Miami, Florida. Mr. Schmitt was raised in Palm Beach County Florida where he attended local private schools. He obtained his B.A. in political science from Florida Atlantic University. He attended Exeter College, Oxford on an ESU/Rhodes Scholarship; and he received his Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law, where he was a member of both the ABA and ATLA mock trial teams, President of the student division of ATLA, and State Champion of the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers’ Statewide Mock Trial Competition, 1989. Mr. Schmitt has dedicated his career to assisting the injured and has specialized as a personal injury trial attorney handling automobile, motorcycle, trucking, brain injury and wrongful death cases for his entire career. Mr Schmitt has obtained several million dollar and multi-million dollar jury verdicts and settlements throughout Florida and recently tried to jury verdict a motorcycle vs. tractor trailer trucking wrongful death case which resulted in a 15.2 Million Dollar Jury Verdict, the second largest motorcycle jury verdict of its kind in Florida ever! Mr. Schmitt is a member in good standing of the Florida Bar, the Florida Justice Association, and the Central Florida Trial Lawyer’s Association. He is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the United States District Court for the Sourthern District of Florida, and all courts of the State of Florida. Mr. Schmitt is an accomplished pianist, a ballroom dancer, and an avid boater. Mr. Schmitt resides with his wife and 2 sons in Groveland and Hutchinson Island, Florida.
