About William Haro
Mr. Haro was born in Miami, Florida. He attended Florida International University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. He graduated law school at Nova Southeastern University (NSU), Shepard Broad Law Center in 2006 in the top 5% of his class and again achieved the academic honor of graduating Magna Cum Laude. While in law school, Mr. Haro was named a Goodwin Scholar and was one of a select group of students who were awarded the Goodwin Scholar Scholarship. In addition, Mr. Haro was awarded the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Scholarship for having provided direct representation to indigent persons in Broward and Miami-Dade Counties in connection with family law proceedings, including divorce, dependency, termination of parental rights, and adoption cases. His legal practice has focused in the area of Workers’ Compensation law, spending the first five years of his practice representing injured workers exclusively. Additionally, Mr. Haro has had experience in handling complex litigation in the areas of commercial litigation, construction litigation, and tort liability defense. Since then until the present time, he has solely dedicated his practice to helping injured workers obtain benefits and protect their rights in the complex and ever-changing Workers Compensation arena, having the distinct advantage of having experience in how insurance companies and employers operate and defend such cases. Mr. Haro has successfully represented many thousands of injured workers, obtaining favorable recoveries both prior to and through trial judgments. He takes particular pride in being accessible to clients, and assuring that all clients’ issues are addressed. Mr. Haro has extensive trial experience in the field of Workers’ Compensation, and has been lead trial counsel on the several cases brought before the First District Court of Appeals including: Mercedes Campo Fernandez v. Blue Sky/Venecia Food Cor. (Fla. 1DCA 6/22/10) He is a member for the Florida Bar and admitted to the Federal Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Florida. Mr. Haro is fluent in Spanish and has lived in South Florida for the past 30 years.
